8月の株式空売り比率が8年ぶり高水準に

 

最近、株式市場で空売りの存在感が高まっているといいます。東京証券取引所が
今月7日発表した8月の空売り状況によると、月間の売買代金に占める空売り注文の比率は
25.5％と8年ぶりの高水準だったそうです。

そもそも、この空売りってなんでしょうか。空売りとは、自分では株を持たず、
証券会社から、株を借り（もちろん手数料を払います）、しばらくたって、株価が下がった
ところで、その株式を買い戻し、借りていた証券会社に株式を返すことによって利益を
あげる手法です。

たとえば、借りてきた株式を現在の株価500円で売却するとします。自分の財布には、
500円入ってくるわけです。しばらくして、株価が仮に200円に下落したところで、200円で
当該株式を購入し、証券会社に返却すれば、手数料抜きで、300円（500円－200円）の利益と
なるわけです。

お気づきのとおり、空売りは将来株価が下落すると考えて初めて成り立つ手法です。したがって、
株式空売り比率が高水準ということは、株価の先安感が高まっているということなんです。
