モレなく、ダブリなく

「モレなく、ダブリなく」をMECE（ミッシー、あるいはミーシー）といったりします。
この言葉は、その昔、マッキンゼーで言われはじめました。

MECEは、Mutually Exclusive Collectively Exhaustive の頭文字を
とったもので、「それぞれが重複することなく、全体集合としてモレがない」という
集合の考え方です。

よく、MECEに物事をとらえろ！なんて言われますが、そもそも何でMECEに
とらえる必要があるかを教えてくれる人は実はあまりいません。 

MECEに物事をとらえる必要があるのは、人に納得してもらうためです。
人が納得しないとき、その人の頭の中には大きくわけて次の二つの疑問があります。

１）この人の話していることは本当か？
2）この人の話していること以外には何もないのか？ 

MECEに考え、議論するのは、この2番目の点について聞き手の不安を解消すること
にあるのです。つまり、話し手として、全体がこれだけあって、私が話しているのは
この部分のことだよ、と聞き手にあらかじめ示してあげれば少なくとも2番目の疑問を
なくすことができるのです。
