仮説という名の思い込み

前職のコンサルティング会社のクリスマスパーティのことです。余
興のひとつとして、奥様の夫に対する不満というテーマでのアン
ケート発表がありました。

そのアンケートの中に「仮説という名の思い込みが激しい」という
のがありました。会場は大爆笑。ある意味、みんな思い当たるふし
があったのだと思います。

コンサルタントの職業病かも知れませんが、自分の仮説が単なる思
い込みかも知れないという視点は常に持っていたいものです。

なぜなら、ファクトベースで、仮説を検証すると言ったって、仮説
をサポートするファクトはいくらでも探すことができるからです。

「人は見たいと欲する現実しか見ようとしない。」というユリウ
ス・カエサル（ジュリアス・シーザー）の言葉もありますから。
